The Capital One Block A project is an 850,000 square foot office building in McLean, VA at Capital One’s world headquarters.  The project consists of two concrete towers joined together by a steel atrium between levels 20 and 24.  The atrium is tied together by two large trusses spanning all 4 levels.  The base elevation of these trusses was built on the ground and set in place as one crane pick each.  The larger of the two trusses were 90’ long and 25’ deep.    With working taking place on the active campus the working conditions were tight for the size of crane required for setting these trusses and required planning and coordination of access shutdowns with Capital One.
