As a Purchasing Intern at SteelFab, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, securing the materials, supplies, and equipment that drive our business forward. We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, motivated, and eager to grow within our company. You’ll receive hands-on training, expanding your skills through a variety of key responsibilities, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Efficiency: Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between vendors and our shop to keep production on track.
- Ownership: Take charge of creating and managing Purchase Orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Detail Management: Process receiving documents and corresponding paperwork with precision.
- Accuracy: Reconcile invoices with Purchase Orders, ensuring everything is properly coded and submitted to Accounting for payment.
Quality Assurance: Review and process detailed shop drawings to maintain high standards.
- Vendor Relations: Build strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Inventory Mastery: Reconcile inventory and maintain accurate records, keeping our operations running smoothly.
- Coordination: Manage materials and procurement for sublet fabricators, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with internal teams like Pre-Construction, Project Management, and the Shop to provide top-notch service and resolve any issues.
- Strategic Insight: Maintain a Pre-Construction material cost database to aid in estimating future projects.
- Fabrication Shop Experience: Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.
- Team Support: Perform additional duties as required by management, always ready to lend a hand.
