Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Document Control department to coordinate bid document distribution to potential subcontractors.
  • Prepare professional and comprehensive proposals, including scopes, alternates, and exclusions, for customer review and submission.
  • Conduct accurate material and labor take-offs using company software.
  • Generate and present detailed take-off reports for review by senior management.
  • Compile cost recaps and vendor scope analyses for managerial review.
  • Maintain proactive communication with vendors and subcontractors to align project scope and schedules via phone and email.
  • Partner with designers to develop conceptual budgets, pricing, and project scopes, offering cost-saving and schedule optimization ideas.
  • Provide constructive feedback to vendors to ensure alignment with company needs.
  • Represent and promote SteelFab’s capabilities to clients and subcontractors.
  • Support Project Managers during the project handover process to ensure a seamless transition from bid to construction.
  • Assist Project Managers with pricing change requests due to design modifications.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers and vendors to foster collaboration and long-term partnerships.
  • Manage multiple bid priorities and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required: 2-year technical degree or high school diploma/equivalent. Some knowledge of computer skills, natural aptitude handling and analyzing numbers.

Preferred: 4-year bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or applied engineering studies. Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, possibly internships or part time.
